Meet Mrs. Shakeeta Torres, LCSW, a passionate advocate for justice and a dedicated professional in mental health, faith, and human trafficking awareness. Shakeeta's commitment to this cause stems from her professional expertise and a deep, personal connection, which fuels her relentless pursuit of educating communities about this critical issue. Over the years, she has devoted herself to learning, praying, and researching how to best serve those affected by this global issue.
Through her work, she has collaborated with law enforcement, community leaders, and faith-based organizations to educate communities on combating human trafficking. As the founder of EmPowered2Shift, a therapeutic services organization, and a Certified Christian Life Coach, Shakeeta has been honored to guide individuals through healing and empowerment. She also coaches others to make a tangible difference in their ministries and communities.
As a committed advocate and educator, Shakeeta founded Doing It for the Kingdom, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about human trafficking. She is also the author of God’s Call to Justice: The Spiritual Battle Against Human Trafficking, a book that combines her professional background, personal revelations, and unwavering belief that justice is necessary and achievable.
Mrs. Torres has provided social work and mental health services since 2007. She has experience in diverse areas, including Hospice, Child Protective Services, and Mental Health. She is also a sought-after speaker who addresses various topics related to Mental Health, Faith, and Human Trafficking. She has spoken on podcasts, at institutions like Fayetteville State University and UNC Pembroke, and at the NOVA Training Institute.
In addition to her practice, she is the visionary behind Empowered Purpose Academy.
